Water Services From the Tohono O’odham Utility Authority
The TOUA Water & Wastewater Department is committed to providing outstanding service and quality water to our customers. TOUA operates 34 total Water Systems to serve 3,400 customers throughout the Nation. Additional major water infrastructure includes 57 wells, 48 storage tanks, 7 booster pump stations, and nearly 300 miles of water mains. All Public Water Systems are regulated by the Federal EPA for strict compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).
Our Wastewater services are provided to 1,900 customers through the operation of 23 sewer systems, most of which treat and dispose of the wastewater in lagoon ponds. Additional major sewer infrastructure consists of 15 sewage lift stations, and over 150 miles of sewer mains.
How to Establish Residential Water Service
Prior to establishing your home site, we encourage you to contact TOUA Water Department to evaluate if your home can be served properly with water and wastewater services.
Residents who would like to set up new service with TOUA on property assigned to them must be 18 years old, and proof of age must be verified with identification such as a driver’s license, tribal identification, or a social security card. Applicant must also submit a district resolution that gives TOUA permission to provide ALL utility services. A service deposit may be required. If you are requesting water service on land that is assigned to someone else, you will need to submit a notarized letter from the named land assignee that gives you permission to establish utility services with TOUA. A signed contract and deposit fee must be paid before the service is supplied.

Plumbing Services From TOUA
- For a one-person job, the hourly fee is $75, plus materials and travel time.
- For a two-person job, the hourly fee is $105, plus materials and travel time.
- For a one-person job with specialized equipment, the hourly fee is $105, plus materials and service charge ($30)
- For a two-person job with specialized equipment, the hourly fee is $145, plus materials and service charge ($30)
