In recent years, many people have opted to give up their landline phone service. While it might seem like an easy cost-savings decision, you may want to put that idea on hold. A corded landline remains functional even during power outages, providing a reliable connection to emergency services. You never have to worry about dropped calls, and the sound quality is better with a landline than with a cellular phone.
The Tohono O’odham Utility Authority manages landline telephone service for the Tohono O’odham Nation. We’ve been handling telephone service for more than 25 years, and we have a team of trusted, experienced professionals. As technology has advanced, we’ve invested in training for our team to make sure they stay current with modern equipment and software.
Applicants who would like to sign up for residential telephone service with TOUA on property assigned to them must be 18 years old, and proof of age must be verified with identification such as a driver’s license, tribal identification, or a social security card. For new residential telephone service applicants must also submit a district resolution that gives TOUA permission to provide ALL utility services. If you are requesting new residential telephone service on land that is assigned to someone else, you’ll need to submit a notarized letter from the named land assignee that gives you permission to establish utility services with TOUA.
