It might be tempting to skip setting up a landline for your business, but landline phone service offers several important advantages over other types of phone service.


A standard business phone system provides your team with a host of functions that can’t be duplicated by using cell phones. If you’d like to be able to transfer callers or set up systems with prompts (“Press one for accounting, two for human resources,” etc.), a business landline system can accommodate those needs. You’ll probably also find it easier and more cost-effective to expand a landline system than to constantly buy new cellular phones as your team expands.


VoIP (voice over internet protocol) is also an alternative to landline service, but it requires robust internet service and may present technical challenges. Without a solid IT team, VOIP can quickly become complex.
